“We are thrilled to support our neighborhood PAL chapters to help fuel the future of local youth,” says Joseph Choi, Queens, N.Y., BP gas station owner.
BP station owners of New York and New Jersey plan to present a BP Fueling Communities grant donation of $55,500 to four local Police Athletic League (PAL) chapters on Aug. 10.
Local BP owners will join PAL staff and youth participants from the Nassau County, Suffolk County, New York City and Jersey City areas to present the grant donation to PAL at 6 p.m. on Friday.
The donation was made possible by the support of 185 local BP station owners. The four PAL chapters will each receive equal funding from BP.
The PAL chapters serve more than 45,000 local children, and the grant donation is expected to help fund athletic facilities and youth sports programs.
The BP Fueling Communities program provides grants to local organizations that are nominated by BP’s branded marketers to support the communities in which they do business.
BP operates more than 11,000 BP and ARCO branded retail outlets in the U.S.
