Sheetz is opening its 429th c-store at 8283 Old U. S. Highway 52 in Midway, N.C. on Thursday, The-Dispatch Online reported.
The 6,400-square-foot Midway store will be the sixth new store opened in the Triad this year. It is expected to create 40-45 new full- and part-time jobs and add $3.5 million taxable property value to the city and county tax base.
“This is the 12th location we’ve opened in North Carolina in 2012, and we continue to see strong sales from our loyal Sheetz customers,” said Stan Sheetz, president and CEO. “We’re among the exceptions in a tough economy, because we’ll open between 25 and 30 new locations this year, all offering great food, exceptional customer service and gas prices that are among the best in town.”
Customers are expected to arrive early on Thursday to vie for a spot as one of the first 50 in line, for a chance to receive $100 worth of free food and beverages during the grand opening.
Sheetz has been a supporter of the Special Olympics for more than 20 years and will make a $2,500 donation to the local chapter as part of the opening activities.
