“We’re responding to repeated requests from area residents who have been asking us to open a Parker’s in Rincon,” says Parker’s CEO.
Parker’s Convenience Stores recently announced plans to build a new state-of-the-art convenience store in Rincon, Ga.
The newest Parker’s, located at the site of the former Springfield Ford dealership on Hwy. 21, will offer discounted gasoline as well as 4,500 square feet of retail space.
The upscale store, which will be the company’s 29th location, is expected to break ground in October 2012 and will open to the public in January 2013. The store will be the first Parker’s in Rincon and the third in Effingham County, joining existing locations in Guyton and Springfield.
“We’re responding to repeated requests from area residents who have been asking us to open a Parker’s in Rincon,” said Greg Parker, president and CEO of The Parker Cos. “We’re listening to our customer base and appreciate their feedback. Our goal is always to exceed customer expectations, delivering the products customers want most at competitive prices.”
Parker’s will feature high-tech Gilbarco’s Applause TV gas pumps outfitted with 10-inch full-color television screens and will offer innovative LIFT Retail Marketing Technology, which ensures quality customer service, at the new Rincon location.
Parker’s will also offer its 1-Cent Wednesday Fueling the Community program at the Rincon convenience store. On the first Wednesday of every month, Parker’s sets aside one cent of every gallon of gas purchased to donate back to community schools.
The company’s PumpPal club, which provides discounts of up to 10 cents on every gallon of gas purchased, has saved customers $2 million since the program first launched in February of 2011. Today, the PumpPal program has more than 55,000 members throughout Georgia and South Carolina.
Parker’s currently operates 27 convenience stores across the region and plans to open additional locations in Chatham, Liberty, Effingham, Bulloch, Jasper and Beaufort counties within the next year. The 28th Parker’s store is currently under construction in Garden City, Ga. and is scheduled to open in October 2012.
The company was recently ranked on Inc.’s elite list of the top 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. For more on that story, check out p. 74 of CSD’s September issue.
