Donates to Liberty County Public Schools.
Parker’s has presented a check for $2,000 to Liberty County Public Schools as part of the company’s Fueling the Community program. The donation is part of a $20,000 charitable contribution Parker’s is making this month to area schools in Georgia and South Carolina.
Parker’s donates one cent of every gallon of gas purchased at all 27 of its convenience stores on the first Wednesday of the month to community schools through the Fueling the Community program. The company’s charitable initiative officially launched in the fall of 2011 and has donated money to public and private schools in every community where Parker’s does business.
“It’s my honor to help support public education in Liberty County,” said Greg Parker, president and CEO of Parker’s. “I believe education helps build strong communities and serves as the key to future success. At Parker’s, we applaud local teachers and administrators for their hard work educating children in Liberty County.”
Parker’s customers can sign up for a PumpPal card online at www.parkersav.com and select a school of their choice for their one cent per gallon donation. Existing PumpPal members can access their account online and select a specific school to receive donations.
The company’s PumpPal club, which provides discounts of up to 10 cents on every gallon of gas purchased, has saved customers $2 million since the program first launched in February of 2011. Today, the PumpPal program has more than 55,000 members throughout Georgia and South Carolina.
Parker’s currently operates 27 convenience stores across the region and plans to open additional locations in Chatham, Liberty, Effingham, Bulloch, Jasper and Beaufort counties within the next year.
Parker’s recently announced a new location on Hwy. 21 in Rincon, which will open in January 2013. The company also has an additional store under construction in Garden City, which is scheduled to open later this month.
