Donation helps fund Muskingum County Children Services and its Avondale Youth Center.
Bill and Ben Englefield, presidents of Englefield Oil Co., and the employees of Englefield Oil Co., along with their supplier BP have donated $10,000 to the Muskingum County Children Services through a grant provided by BP Branded Marketer, the Fueling Communities Program.
Located in Zanesville, Ohio, Muskingum County Children Services (MCCS) is a county government agency charged with investigating reports of abuse and neglect of children, providing intervention services to children and families with substantiated abuse or neglect, providing substitute care services as needed, and providing permanency for children with kinship providers and through adoption after court termination of parental rights.
A large part of MCCS is the Avondale Youth Center (AYC). This co-ed, residential therapeutic center celebrated its 100th anniversary last year. The goal of the AYC comprehensive array of services is to design an individualized therapeutic intervention program, stabilize the child, and ultimately return the child to a stable home environment. A professionally trained and understanding staff, with an average of 10 years of experience, will guide each adolescent to a new destiny.
“Our company has always had a soft spot for children and their well being. We have a lot of presence in Muskingum County, so we wanted to focus on this region in particular” said Ben Englefield. After researching the area and learning more about MCCS and the Avondale Children’s Home, the folks at Englefield Oil felt this organization more than deserved this gift.
