Mars Makes Fortune 100 Best Companies To Work For List

“We believe Mars is a great place to have a career and we are especially pleased that this ranking is due in large part to what our associates have to say about our culture, heritage and winning business,” says Mars president.

Mars Inc. has been ranked 95 on the FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For list, the annual ranking compiled by Great Place to Work Institute includes the most admired businesses as recognized by employees.

The list, announced by FORTUNE and featured in the February edition of its magazine, honored the top 100 companies to work for in the U.S.

“We’re proud to be named a ‘Best Company to Work For’ by FORTUNE magazine. We believe Mars is a great place to have a career and we are especially pleased that this ranking is due in large part to what our associates have to say about our culture, heritage and winning business,” commented Paul Michaels, president, Mars Inc.

Widely recognized as an authoritative reference, the FORTUNE list of great places to work is compiled largely through a series of Associate surveys. Two-thirds of a company’s score is based on the results of the survey, which asked questions related to Associates’ attitudes about management’s credibility, job satisfaction, and camaraderie. The other third is based on responses to the Institute’s Culture Audit, which included questions about pay and benefit programs, hiring practices, methods of internal communication, training, recognition programs, social responsibility, and diversity efforts.

“It is great to see Mars as part of the FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For list! As a Mars Associate, I am really encouraged to feel part of a unique culture and to have the opportunity to make a difference every day,” said Mars Associate Stanley Whitman, Mars Petcare U.S.

In November 2012, Mars was also recognized by the world’s first global workplace excellence ranking—the World’s Best Multinational Workplaces List, which, among other things, recognized Mars’ increases in the percentage of women in executive and senior management positions over the last 11 years (38% globally in 2012). In 2012, more than 15 of Mars, Inc.’s operations were featured on national Great Place to Work and other local workplace ranking lists including: Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, India, Ireland, Korean, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia and Spain, as well as being featured 18th on the Great Place to Work 25 Best Multinational Workplaces in Europe.
