At the Mid-America Trucking Show the Awareness Walk promotes healthier professional drivers.
Together with Trucking Solutions Group, TravelCenters of America (TravelCenters), operator of the TA and Petro Stopping Centers branded travel centers, invites the entire trucking industry to join their 4th annual MATS Health Awareness Walk.
The walk will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013, at 2 p.m. during the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky.
The MATS Health Awareness Walk—the first of its kind—is a fitness event for the trucking industry. There is no cost. Registration is required, and is available online at www.truckingsolutionsgroup.org or at MATS prior to the walk. Walk participants will meet outside of room B103 at the Kentucky Expo Center at 1:45 p.m. to register and prepare for the 2 p.m. step-off led by Tom O’Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters. All walk participants will receive T-shirts and goodie bags, while supplies last, with health information and giveaways.
The MATS Health Awareness Walk is a fun, non-competitive 1.5-mile course for anyone in the trucking industry who wants to help raise fitness awareness, get fit, stay healthy or find tips to enhance their workouts. Participants can choose to walk all or part of the 1.5-mile distance.
TA and Petro, together with Trucking Solutions Group, are innovators in the trucking industry, working toward making personal health and fitness easier for all truckers. TravelCenters rolled out its StayFit program in 2010, offering better-for-you restaurant menu options and travel store items, in addition to free fitness centers, mapped walking trails and basketball courts, nationwide.
