Local charities benefit from donations.
Rutter’s Children’s Charities raised more than $110,000 for central Pennsylvania charities at its 11th annual golf outing, the company announced.
Since its beginning in 2002, the two-day outing has raised over $1 million for children’s charities in central Pennsylvania. The Make-a-Wish Foundation of greater Pennsylvania, the Chambersburg Hospital, and York Little Theater are among the charities that will receive a portion of the proceeds from this year’s outing to continue their work with children throughout Rutter’s service area.
This year, in place of sponsorship plaques, Rutter’s donated $1,000 for each day of the outing to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that assists wounded veterans and their families as they return home. Rutter’s will also make a $2,000 donation to the Loganville Volunteer Fire Co. in honor of its Volunteer Fire Chief, Rodney Miller, who was killed in the line of duty on April 28, 2013.
Rutter’s has been active in the central Pennsylvania community since its beginning in 1921. Today, under the family’s third generation of leadership, Rutter’s Dairy products are available across the Mid-Atlantic region and Rutter’s Farm Stores operates 58 convenience stores throughout central Pennsylvania with Scott Hartman as president and CEO, Todd Rutter as president of Rutter’s Dairy and Tim Rutter as president of M&G Realty.
