Mobile text program joins forces with GasBuddy.

Thorntons Inc. has relaunched its Gas Price Alert text program with new and improved features hosted by GasBuddy and powered by OpenSource software.

The program now has new and expanded market coverage for the chain’s Midwestern and Southeastern customer base.

The simple-to-use program requires a one-time participant text to 55123 that includes a market code (e.g. LOUGPA for Metro Louisville) for the area(s) customers who wish to receive alerts. Participants will receive a text message before fuel prices are set to increase at the pump, with an alert sent each time Thorntons is notified of a confirmed increase.
