Rutter’s Farm Stores Chief Customer Officer, Derek Gaskins, had the opportunity to shakes hands with James Strickler (see photo, left), the first customer at Rutter’s newest location in Mountville, Lancaster County, Pa.
Strickler’s family once owned the land on which the convenience store stands, the second Lancaster County location for the York, Pa.-based company.
“On the land where the store sits now, there was a huge oak tree that my father passed by on a horse-drawn plow,” Strickler said. “He felt refreshed by the shade of the oak and I hope every customer who visits Rutter’s will be similarly refreshed.”
Rutter’s celebrated the newest location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at which the Mountville Youth Athletic Association, The West Hempfield Township Police Department, The West Hempfield Township Fire and Rescue and the Mountville Fire Company each received a $1000 donation.
