The promotion generated nearly 3,500 entries into the contest.

Atlas Oil Co. awarded a Grand Prize of a two-year lease on a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro LS to Patrick Morgan of Grosse Isle, Mich. as part of the company’s 2013 Summer Road Rally Promotion Wednesday evening. The other finalists were awarded with $50 Marathon Gift Cards.

“We were thrilled with the response to this promotion,” said Mike Evans, executive vice president of retail at Atlas Oil Co. “More than 100 Marathon stations here in Michigan were involved in this Summer Road Rally promotion. We are pleased to offer promotions, such as these to thank customers for their patronage and showcase the businesses of our retail partners. The promotion generated nearly 3,500 entries into the contest in a short period of time and our retailers saw a significant increase in traffic.  This was by far one of our most successful promotions.”

The summer promotion ran from Aug. 12-Sept. 8 and was sponsored by Atlas Oil, Marathon Petroleum, Taylor Chevrolet and WRIF Radio. Customers participated by picking up a game card at participating Marathon locations marked by blue and white checkered Summer Road Rally banners. 

For each $20 purchase, customers then received a game piece sticker. Once their game card was full, customers then turned in their game card at a participating Marathon location to be entered into the drawing for the new car lease.

At the end of the promotion, 10 finalists were drawn and were invited to the grand prize award event.  Each received a key, knowing that one of the keys would start the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro LS.

Many other special events took place during the course of the promotion, including special gas price saving days and promotional offers inside the store which were announced by local radio station WRIF.
