Donation is part of Fueling the Community Program.

Parker’s recently presented a $4,000 Fueling the Community check to Beaufort County Schools in Beaufort, S.C.

The donation, which is part of a larger unrestricted charitable contribution to area schools in South Carolina and Georgia, was officially presented at the Beaufort County Board of Education meeting on Nov. 5.

“We’re deeply committed to giving back to every community where Parker’s does business,” said Greg Parker, president and CEO of Parker’s. “I’m a firm believer that education is the key to future success, so it’s truly my pleasure to support the hard-working teachers and administrators at Beaufort County Schools through this donation.”

Parker’s donates one cent of every gallon of gas purchased at all of its convenience stores on the first Wednesday of the month to area schools through the Fueling the Community program. The company’s charitable initiative officially launched in the fall of 2011 and has donated money to public and private schools throughout South Carolina and Georgia.

Parker’s customers can sign up for a PumpPal card online at www.PumpPalClub.com to select a school of their choice for their one cent per gallon donation. Existing PumpPal members can access their account online and select a specific school to receive donations.

The company’s PumpPal club, which provides discounts of up to 10 cents on every gallon of gas purchased, has saved customers $3 million since the program first launched in February of 2011. Today, the PumpPal program has more than 75,000 members throughout Georgia and South Carolina.

Parker’s currently operates 32 convenience stores across the region and plans to open additional locations in Chatham, Liberty, Effingham, Bulloch, Long and Beaufort counties.

The company has five locations in Beaufort County and employs more than 400 individuals throughout Georgia and South Carolina.
