Attendees to gain expert advice on how to build, grow and develop businesses within the industry.
More than 400 CITGO marketers and retailers from nine states are convening at the Foxwoods Resort Casino today, June 3, for the annual CITGO Northeast Region Retailer Meeting.
Attendees will gain valuable insights from marketing, branding and consumer behavior experts while sharing best practices for improving retailer business, discovering new convenience store products and learning more about important industry trends. Additionally, seven lucky winners will be chosen to receive a trip to the October NACS Show in Las Vegas, sponsored by the Association for Convenience and Fuel Retailing.
“This meeting brings together our dedicated Marketers and Retailers to learn from the best on how to successfully handle the challenges and opportunities in their specific markets,” said Alan Flagg, general manager of Light Oils Marketing with CITGO Petroleum Corp. “It’s also another opportunity for us to share CITGO programs that can help improve and grow their day-to-day business.”
The 2014 CITGO Northeast Region Retailer Meeting will address the state of the convenience store industry, as well as provide an overview of the CITGO brand and associated marketing and advertising plans. In addition to CITGO subject matter experts, convenience store vendors, storage tank producers and payment card transaction providers will provide expert advice on how to build, grow and develop businesses within this complex industry.
Guest speakers include Andrew Davis, co-founder of Tippingpoint Labs and best-selling author of Brandscaping: Unleashing the Power of Partnerships and Dr. Rajeev Sharma, founder and CEO of leading shopper marketing insights and in-store measurement provider VideoMining Corporation. Attendees will learn about a range of topics, including new marketing ideas and the importance of tracking convenience shoppers’ behaviors.
“The investments made by CITGO marketers and retailers in their businesses not only fuel the creation of jobs, but also build stronger communities,” Flagg added. “That’s another reason why we arm our CITGO marketers and retailers with the tools and insights that lead them to greater success.”
The one-day conference will also feature Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri, along with other Miss America 2014 contestants. CITGO has partnered with the Miss America Organization to promote a range of issues, including the importance of education, healthy living, helping others and diversity, all of which align with core CITGO values.
“The work done by CITGO Marketers and Retailers is extraordinary. I’m thrilled to be a part of this exciting conference,” said Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri. “I’ve participated in events at local CITGO locations and I have seen what an important role these local businesses play.”
