Kwik Trip Inc., the Wisconsin-based chain of convenience stores, celebrated the opening of its 30th compressed natural gas station today with the opening of its Fond Du Lac, Wis. location.
Kwik Trip opened its first CNG location in April of 2012 and has since then continued to develop a functional CNG fueling infrastructure throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.
As a privately held company, Kwik Trip has taken on the task to expand its fuel offerings using only its own internal resources and expertise. By bringing natural gas to the market, Kwik Trip has positioned itself to provide a better, more affordable fueling solution to the public. Kwik Trip’s own distribution fleet, Convenience Transportation, has surpassed over 100 natural gas vehicles, both light and heavy duty, with plans to continue the conversion of the entire fleet.
Kwik Trip’s CNG locations can be found in the following areas: La Crosse (2), Sturtevant, Oshkosh (2), Baldwin, Wausau, Waukesha, Janesville, Sheboygan, Appleton, Verona, Menomonie, Lake Mills, Plover, Oak Creek, De Pere, New Berlin, Superior, Fond Du Lac and Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Rochester, Minnesota City, Owatonna, Mankato, Eagan and St. Michael, Minnesota; Cedar Falls, Waterloo and Davenport, Iowa. An additional 2 CNG sites will open in the winter of 2014, including Windsor, Wisconsin, and Austin, Minnesota.
