Winning firm Renzo Piano Building Workshop is known for its design of the New York Times Building.
Kum & Go’s corporate headquarters in downtown Des Moines’ Western Gateway is set to be designed by international architect firm Renzo Piano Building Workshop, according to the Business Record Online.
The firm, with offices in New York, Genoa and Paris, is led by Renzo Piano, and was recently selected from a group of six finalists.
Kum & Go CEO Kyle Krause told the Business Record Online that more than a dozen prominent architect firms had expressed interest in the project.
Among Renzo Piano Building Workshop’s signature projects are New York Times building in New York City and the Art Institute of Chicago’s Modern Wing.
The 120,000-square-foot Kum & Go headquarters will feature open interior spaces that are conducive to collaboration. A local architect and general contractor will be selected in the upcoming months to work on the project.
