Five regional champions put go-to game day recipes to the final test on bowl game day.
Chevron U.S.A. Inc. has announced the Chevron Game Day Chef Challenge grand finale cook-off—a cooking contest that launched in August giving football fans and foodies in Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington the opportunity to compete for the grand prize of $25,000 in Chevron Promotional Cards.
Contestants in each region submitted their go-to game day recipe at www.TheGameDayChef.com that included a food or beverage item purchased from a Chevron or Texaco station. Winners from each region are advancing to the grand finale cook-off to compete for the grand prize at the bowl game at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, Calif. The following regional champions will compete in the grand finale:
- Suzanne Clark, Ariz.
- Erin Marie Williams, Ore.
- Jessica Neill Hoyson, Wash.
- Matt Thorpe, Northern California
- Jennifer Daskevich, Southern California
“Aligning our brands with events so ingrained in consumers’ everyday lives, allows us to establish a connection with the millions of sports enthusiasts throughout the U.S., while continuing our commitment to delivering high-quality products and performance in our key American markets,” said Mark Matheny, Chevron brand specialist. “The Chevron Game Day Chef Challenge has been a fun, engaging opportunity for us to give our customers chances to win big.”
The regional champions will have one hour to prepare and cook their go-to game day recipe for the panel of celebrity judges in a live cook-off just prior to today’s bowl game. Judges will score the dishes based on taste, appearance, originality and creativity, and the number of mandatory ingredients used. In addition, fans at the event will be able to vote for their favorite dishes on game day by texting in for their favorite recipe. Contestants must be 18 years or older at the time of entry and a resident of Arizona, California, Oregon or Washington state. Official Rules and additional details are available on the Website.
