Opened in 1980 by the late John MacDougall, the company has grown to more than 78 corporate and franchise stores.
Yesterday, April 1, marked the 35th Anniversary of convenience store chain Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes.
“We would like to thank our dedicated employees, business partners and most of all our loyal customers for making the past 35 years a great success,” the company said on its Facebook page.
The late founder John MacDougall opened the first store in 1980 with two other partners. MacDougall became sole owner of Nice N Easy in 1996 and was the owner, president and CEO of Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes until he passed away June 21, 2014. This business has grown to 78 corporate and franchise stores in the upstate New York area and employs over 1,500 people.
On November 1, 2014 CST Brands Inc. and CrossAmerica Partners jointly purchased the assets of Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes Inc., making Nice N Easy a part of one of the largest independent retailers in North America.
