Generous customers help enmarket raise thousands for a worthy cause.
Thanks to the enormous generosity of its customers, enmarket was able to raise $90,234 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light The Night Walk.
Throughout the month of May, enmarket’s 63 stores in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina raised money to support the LLS mission to cure blood cancer and help patients and their families. To raise funds, the stores sold Light The Night paper balloon icons for $1 a piece to generous customers.
Enmarket also held Full-Service Fridays in Springfield, Ga., Tifton, Ga., Bluffton, S.C. and Arden, N.C. A Full-Service Friday allowed customers to pull into the enmarket store, where members of the enmarket management team pumped gas, wiped windows and handed out coupons in hopes of collecting donations for LLS’ 2015 Light the Night event.
“I’m overwhelmed and humbled by the extraordinary generosity of our customers,” said Vice President Houstoun Demere, who lost his mother to leukemia when he was just six years old. “Their support will go a long way to helping the LLS find a cure for leukemia and lymphoma.”
The three enmarket stations that raised the most money were the stores on Hwy 21 South in Springfield, Ga., Northside Drive West in Statesboro, Ga. and Midtown Drive in Beaufort, S.C.
Savannah’s Light The Night Walk will take place on Friday, Oct. 16 in Forsyth Park, Savannah, Ga. During the event, walkers carry an illuminated balloon along the walk route. Cancer patients and survivors will carry white balloons as “lights of hope,” supporters carry red balloons and those walking in remembrance of someone carry gold balloons.
