A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday for the new Urban League Center which will be built on the site of the Ferguson, Mo. QuikTrip which was looted and set on fire in August during the Ferguson riots.
According to a report from 4 News, QuikTrip announced in March that it would be donating the property of the burned store to The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis for the new center.
The new center will give greater access to education, job training, employment and economic self-reliance for the residents of the St. Louis area. Urban League also plans to offer counseling for housing, rent, utility assistance and mental health services at the new canter.
