Some simple tricks may be all you need to boost gum sales at your convenience stores.
One rule to always remember is that if the customer cannot see the product, you are not likely to sell it. When it comes to pushing gum and mints sales, it is important to feature the items that you want to promote. If you are looking to sell more gum and mints, consider using an endcap display to feature these items. Endcaps are easily seen, and setting a product apart in a place where it can be easily seen is sure to grab a customer’s attention.
Another way to boost sales is to use prominent signage. Large, eye-catching signs will attract customers to the section. Use signs to display brands and product times, and also to advertise sale items. A large sign announcing a sale is sure to peak interest.
Another display technique to consider is to add curves to a display. This may seem like an extraneous detail, but merchandising experts say that curves on a display engage female shoppers.
Now that you have attracted your customers to the gum and mint section, it is crucial that they find the area to be well-stocked and full of variety. Impulse options are likely when a display is well-stocked. An empty display, or one with little variety, is not likely to help in boosting sales.
