Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market stores are looking to create a shopping experience that is customized to cater to the specific communities that they serve.
Wal-Mart’s growing number of Arkansas Neighborhood Markets continue to become more unique. These new Neighborhoood Market stores look to become the ultimate one-stop-shop by offering services, from fuel to hot and ready pizza, to its customers.
According to The City Wire, Wal-Mart’s newest Neighborhood Market, on North Walton Boulevard, is now testing its own pizza service in the deli department. This new service includes fresh-made take-and-bake pizzas, available 24/7, along with made-to-order pizzas, which can be wrapped to be baked at home, or baked by Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart associates have reported that many shoppers call ahead to place their pizza order, and they can pick it up a few minutes later. Having this service in the store allows customers to purchase chips, beer and other beverages as their pizza is being made. The pizza service brings a whole new meaning to a one-stop-shop.
There is also talk that Wal-Mart may soon offer online pizza ordering with store pick-up in the near future.
Although this pizza service seems to be popular among shoppers in the area, other Neighborhood Market locations are choosing to implement different special product options to fit with the community’s needs.
The North Walton Blvd. store is also home to a pastry counter that is supplied by Rick’s Bakery, which is based in Fayetteville, Ark. The pastry case featuring these treats is restocked as needed on a daily basis, or every other day as needed. This is the first time that these local favorite confections have been sold outside of Rick’s Bakery.
This new Neighborhood Market also features some new improvements such as a fixture dedicated to displaying a wide variety of cheeses, “top stock” methodology to improve restocking speed, modular tops are being used to display items that can be purchased online and picked up in-store, organic produce is being highlighted in its own section near the front of the store and this new store utilizes split aisles so that customers do not have to travel to the opposite end of the store to change aisles.
