NOCO and its employees recently donated more than 6,500 non-perishable food items to the Food Bank of Western New York.
From July 10-17, NOCO’s eight office/warehouse locations throughout Western New York donated non-perishable items to the cause. On July 28, employees loaded the donation onto the Food Bank’s delivery truck.
“This is the second year in a row our employees came together to donate to those most in need throughout our local communities,” said James Newman, NOCO president. “This donation will assist the Food Bank of Western New York in providing meals throughout the summer and into the early fall.”
The Food Bank of WNY is the primary hunger relief organization in Western New York, obtaining and then distributing food to 326 member agencies such as pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, after school programs and senior citizen centers in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties. Through the agencies, the Food Bank services more than 41,000 families on a monthly basis.
“We are grateful for all of the support that NOCO Energy Corporation has provided to the Food Bank of Western New York throughout the years,” said Marylou Borowiak, president & CEO of the Food Bank of WNY. “This donation of 4,446 pounds of food will help us to provide 3,705 meals to the nearly 117,000 individuals throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties who rely on our services each month.”
