Rutter’s is now bringing real potatoes to the forefront.
Nothing says comfort food like loaded mashed potatoes.
That’s what York, Pa.-based Rutter’s Food Stores is banking on with its new foodservice concept that uses real potatoes as the foundation, providing consumers the ability to create meals by topping with premium meats and fresh, simple ingredients.
The c-stores said turkey bacon, pastrami, corned beef, fried chicken, grilled chicken or Angus beef meatballs enable the mashed potato offering to move from the side of the plate to the front and center.
Toppings like brown gravy, cheese, sour cream and fresh vegetables add balanced, unique flavors to complete each order.
The loaded mashed potatoes come made to order in two convenient sizes: a single serving and a family size.
It’s the latest addition to Rutter’s potato offerings, which includes classic spuds like French fries and hash browns; unique, crowd-pleasing sandwiches like the cheesy fry and cheesy hash brown wrap, and signature game day favorites like loaded potato skins, which also can be topped with high quality proteins and fresh ingredients.
Rutter’s real loaded mashed potatoes join other signature offerings like Bada Bing shrimp, crab cake sliders and the Ultimate line of burgers, tacos and quesadillas on the c-store’s menu.
Rutter’s operates 60 convenience stores throughout central Pennsylvania. In 2014, Rutter’s became the first U.S. retailer to receive the International Convenience Retailer of the Year Award presented by the National Association of Convenience Stores.
