CityTarget and TargetExpress will no longer play a part in Target’s urban expansion strategy.
As Target Corp. works to grow within densely-populated urban areas the company has been rolling out compact stores to fit in crowded areas. These smaller stores were named TargetExpress and CityTarget and they have been growing in number over the past three years.
However, according to a report from ABC Eyewitness News, these two names that have branded the 14 smaller Target locations will soon be no more. The company has announced that these small stores will be renamed and rebranded, beginning in October. The stores will be simply named Target, and they will be branded with the Bullseye logo.
The company’s commitment to its urban growth strategy remains strong, with the opening of four smaller-formatted Target stores slated to open in urban areas in October. There are also plans for two additional traditionally sized Targets to open in the same month.
