Talking Rain, Albertsons Cos and Entertainment Industry Foundation pledge efforts to support Hunger Is.
The Albertsons Cos and its store brands has partnered with the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) to create an in-store campaign to support Hunger Is. Hunger Is, a charitable program of the EIF, raises awareness and funds to fight childhood hunger in America.
The campaign will feature Academy Award nominated and Emmy Award winning actress Viola Davis to benefit Talking Rain will support Hunger Is through local food bank food and monetary donations totaling up to $15,000.
Taking place in October, select Albertson’s and Jewel-Osco store managers will compete in a supermarket shopping spree for the local food bank of their choice. The store managers will be shopping from a list of items that their food bank currently needs to fill their shelves.
The Hunger Is print PSA featuring Davis, which appears year-round in an array of media outlets, will be adapted for point-of-sale displays and other materials to be featured in select stores during the in-store campaign. The local communities of Portland, Chicago and Boise are encouraged to come and support the events. The shopping spree will take place at the following locations:
- Saturday, Oct. 10: Troutdale Albertson’s, 25691 SE Stark St, Troutdale Ore. 97060
- Thursday, Oct. 17 6-8pm: Jewel-Osco, 343 W Irving Park Rd, Wood Dale Ill. 60191
