West Coast grocery chain to layoff thousands.
The 97 remaining Fresh & Easy grocery stores in California, Arizona and Nevada will soon be closing their doors, for good.
According to a report from NBC News, the chain has struggled, since opening in 2007, to keep up with consumers, and it has finally become too much for the chain to handle. The chain went bankrupt in 2013, and was purchased by California-based The Yucaipa Cos., and in March of this year, 50 stores were closed.
The company has announced that its 3,000 employees will be laid off, and the layoffs are expected to begin a week from Oct. 23.
