There’s a commonly held belief in the cleaning industry that it’s not wise to hire students, because their school schedules are inflexible and difficult to work around. And, yet, there’s a successful, residential cleaning service in Florida whose staff of 500+ are all students. Needless to say, the employer has worked out a masterful scheduling system.

Another employer in Austin (where unemployment is at 3.1%) has set up a 9-80 plan. All employees work 80 hours in 9 days and get every other Friday off. Her competitors try to recruit her people away, but to no avail. Proving once again that time is more valuable than money!
