dunkin donutsDunkin’ Donuts is giving customers an easier way to run on Dunkin’.

Apple Pay is now available as an additional way for Dunkin’ Donuts customers to reload their card via the Dunkin’ Mobile App.

With Apple Pay, Dunkin’ Donuts guests can use their iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus to purchase, gift or reload virtual Dunkin’ Donuts Cards through the Dunkin’ Mobile App for quick, easy and secure payment for Dunkin’ Donuts food, beverages and merchandise.

Security and privacy is at the core of Apple Pay, as when guests add a credit or debit card to Apple Pay the actual card numbers are not stored on the device nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on the user’s device. Each transaction is authorized with a one-time unique dynamic security code.

Apple Pay is easy to set up and users will continue to receive all of the rewards and benefits offered by credit and debit cards. Online shopping in apps accepting Apple Pay is as simple as the touch of a finger with Touch ID, so there’s no need to manually fill out lengthy account forms or repeatedly type in shipping and billing information when paying for goods and services within apps.

“Apple Pay represents an important step in our ongoing commitment to leverage the best technologies to help busy, on-the-go people enjoy our full menu of coffees, donuts and sandwiches any time of day, more quickly and conveniently than ever,” said Scott Hudler, vice president, global consumer engagement at Dunkin’ Brands. “With Apple Pay, we continue to differentiate our brand with a superior guest experience that includes offering a full array of options to reload your card within the Dunkin’ Mobile App.”

The Dunkin’ Mobile App for mobile payment and gifting enables guests to pay for food, beverages and merchandise at participating U.S. Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants by scanning their DD Cards stored in the app either in-store or at the drive-thru. Featuring language settings that enable users to view content in English or Spanish, the Dunkin’ Mobile App is available for free from the App Store on iPhone or iPod touch and from the Google Play Store. The Dunkin’ Mobile App has been downloaded more than 15 million times since its launch in 2012.

Dunkin’ Donuts’ DD Perks Rewards Program allows members to earn five points for every dollar spent on qualifying purchases at Dunkin’ Donuts when they pay using an enrolled Dunkin’ Donuts Card. Once a member accrues 200 points, he or she receives a coupon for a free any-size beverage of their choice, redeemable at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants. DD Perks members also receive a coupon for a free, any-size beverage upon enrollment and on their birthday.
