Carroll Hospital receives $3,500 from Jiffy Mart.
Jiffy Mart, a division of Tevis Oil, Inc., recently donated $3,500 to the Center for Breast Health to benefit breast cancer patients at Carroll Hospital.
Employees from Jiffy Mart locations throughout Carroll County presented a check to Brenda Frazier, director of development at the Carroll Hospital Foundation, and Dona Hobart, M.D., medical director of the Center for Breast Health at Carroll Hospital, on Dec. 17.
The monies were raised in October during a month-long fundraiser held at all four Jiffy Mart locations in Finksburg, Hampstead and Westminster. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the stores sold items such as pink pins, bracelets and magnets, and change collectors were placed on the counters for customers to donate their loose change.
“This is an annual event that truly benefits our cancer patients. We are deeply grateful for Jiffy Mart’s generosity and their efforts to help us further our programs and services to cancer patients,” said Frazier.
Carroll Hospital, a LifeBridge Health center, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering the latest in medical technology, experienced medical professionals in a variety of specialties and a continuum of programs and services to meet the needs of the community.
