Washington is cracking down on the safety standards for the expanding electronic cigarette market.
In an effort to prevent children from swallowing liquid nicotine, President Obama has signed legislation which has created new packaging standards for electronic cigarettes.
According to a report from The Hill, the recently passed Child Nicotine Poisoning Prevention Act requires manufacturers of electronic cigarettes to use child-resistent packaging for liquid nicotine.
These new standards will be enforced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
