Jiffy Mart recently held an event to help give back to the community through monetary and food donations.
Jiffy Mart held an autograph signing event on Dec. 3, where Baltimore football fans filled the Greene Turtle to help tackle hunger and to meet Tight End Crockett Gillmore. The Jiffy Mart Autograph signing event raised $2,500 and gathered a great deal of food for the Westminster Shepherd’s Staff.
“Jiffy Mart has worked hard to bring Football back to Westminster, Md. after the Baltimore team moved their training camp to Owings Mills, Md. several years ago,” said Tom Moser, general manager for Jiffy Mart.
“We so appreciate the hard work and dedication of those at Jiffy Mart,” said Brenda Meadows, executive director for The Shepherd’s Staff. “Not only do they bring Football back to Westminster, Md., but they help lift up those in crisis in our local community while doing so. It is because of Jiffy Mart and the support of their partners Green Turtle, Dairy Maid Dairy, Kunzler Meats, Old Westminster Realty and FPC Distribution that this event is so successful.
Located on 30 Carroll Street, The Shepherd’s Staff served 4,296 families in 2014. In 2015 that number grew to 5,842 and they are on pace to exceed that number this year, according to Brenda Meadows.
“At Jiffy Mart, our associates and managers really have a heart for The Shepherd’s Staff,” said Dwayne Cover, business manager for Jiffy Mart. “We have all seen the benefits on a personal level of how The Shepherd’s Staff has positively impacted so many families right here in Carroll County.”
