RLS LLC has launched RLS Aluminum Press Fittings, the first single-component, press-to-connect system engineered for high-pressure aluminum refrigeration joints in foodservice equipment and HVAC systems. The patented RLS fittings eliminate the need to manually braze aluminum joints, an extremely difficult and time consuming process. The new fittings offer the same advantages as the RLS Copper Press Fittings introduced in 2015, including reduced installation time, lower total installed costs, improved consistency and significantly increased safety by eliminating the need for an open flame. Using the RLS press tool and jaws, a typical RLS connection—aluminum or copper—can be made in less than 25 seconds, without the need for an open flame, flammable gas or any heat source. In addition, there is no special tube preparation or sealant required. The tube is prepared just as it is for brazing, then the one-piece fitting is pressed into place, resulting in a clean, hermetically sealed mechanical joint.
