Test site allows Wawa to determine demand for CNG.
Wawa has teamed with a New Jersey utility, South Jersey Gas, to offer compressed natural gas (CNG) at its Paulsboro, N.J. gas station.
The south New Jersey location, which is on Berkley Road at the Interstate 295 interchange, marks Wawa’s first test site for the fuel.
The Courier-Post reported that Wawa unveiled its pilot CNG pumping station last Thursday. It is among 900 CNG filling stations in New Jersey.
The sale and conversion of vehicles from gasoline fuel to compressed natural gas is growing, Brian Schaller, Wawa’s vice president of fuel told the Courier-Post. The pilot program will allow Wawa to determine the level of demand for CNG fuel.
