More than 700 Wawa locations will now be providing patrons with free Wi-Fi access.
Thanks to a new partnership between Wawa and Comcast, Wawa customers can now enjoy the convenience of free Wi-Fi at a number of Wawa locations.
According to a report from Philly.com, more than 700 Wawa locations will now be offering free Wi-Fi to their customers. The company announced that all Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, Florida and Virginia locations will be offering the new service.
Now, when customers enter a Wawa that offers free Wi-Fi, they simply need to log in to the “xfinitywifi” SSID, which will be an option on their device’s “available networks” screen, and they will be ready to surf the web!
The free public Wi-Fi is intended to encourage customers to utilize the Wawa mobile app – which was launched last year and hosts a rewards points system, food ordering and payment options – in order to create a “consistent in-store experience” for consumers, Philly.com reported.
Philly.com also noted that Wawa employees and vendors will also have access to a private network.
According to the report from Philly.com, even Wawa stores that are outside of Comcast’s usual service area will be providing Wi-Fi to customers.
