A new focus on customer service and healthier product offerings will help to broaden Swiss Farms’ customer base and improve the company’s position among its competition.
Swiss Farms has announced that Scott Simon has been appointed as the company’s new president and CEO. Simon has plans to lead the Delaware County, Pa.-based drive-through chain in a fresh new direction. Among other new initiatives, Simon has plans to increase customer base and to grow the company’s market share through new, lifestyle focused, better-for-you product offerings.
In his role as president and CEO, Simon will oversee operational services and drive revenue through exceptional customer service, investments in employee training and strategic planning and management.
Simon has placed a priority on customer engagement and associate training programs as the key to effectively communicating positive changes within the retailer. Marketing programs will reinforce the drive-through experience with a focus on convenient and healthier solutions for time-starved patrons, through increased signage, social media campaigns and community outreach. Extending the convenience factor to the online ordering system will involve a revamp by grouping products associated with lifestyle needs in categories like ‘after school snacks’ or ‘tailgating,’ as well as suggesting products that are generally purchased together.
In addition to Simon, Swiss Farms recently added an on-staff dietitian, Audrey Hasse, to assist with product selection and community outreach. Swiss Farms will continue to strike a balance between indulgent local favorites and good-for-you options.
Simon most recently served as chief operating officer at Heavenly Bowl LLC, where he led the operational activities from inception to execution at nine Heavenly Bowl stores in Southern California and Nevada. He also previously served as Director of Food and Beverage for Harrah’s Philadelphia, CCR Resorts in Las Vegas and Par-A-Dice Hotel & Casino, operated by Boyd Gaming, in East Peoria, Ill. Past experiences include positions at Aramark and Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. as well.
“For fifty years Swiss Farms has been a trusted brand, serving our customer’s on-the-go needs. Today, we understand that one of the biggest challenges to achieving a healthy lifestyle is time and convenience, so we’re listening to our customers and helping them by providing easy solutions – whether grabbing dinner for the family, breakfast in the morning or snacks for the little league team,” said Simon.
Simon has an MBA from Bradley University, completed undergraduate work at UCLA and obtained a certificate equivalent to an AOS Degree from California Culinary Academy. He also has educational certificates from Harvard University, U.S. Coast Guard Cooking School, Aramark Leadership School, Peoria Chamber of Commerce Leadership School and the University of Nevada.
