Upgraded amenities and a new variety of meal options will attract increased traffic to Pilot Flying J this summer.
Pilot Flying J is has launched special summer discounts and an expanded variety of menu items to offer the perfect stopping place for this summer’s record number of travelers. A recent survey from AAA has revealed that 69% of families have plans to take a road trip this summer, and Pilot Flying J is prepared to help these travelers refuel and refresh with fast, fresh meal options, newly renovated restrooms and a slew of unbeatable discounts.
To help kickoff the busy summer driving season, Pilot Flying J wants to make it easier for travelers to “fill up” on the items they want. From now through July 7, guests are invited to take advantage of the “Thungry” promotion, which was created to provide choice and variety to consumers. “Thungry” offers guests any king size candy bar or XXVL Frito Lay bag for just $1, with the purchase of any non-alcoholic beverage in-store.
For those with a larger appetite this summer, guests can enjoy “Unexpectedly Awesome” PJ Fresh Pizza, a new lineup of hearty PJ Fresh breakfast sandwiches made with artisan ingredients, as well as access to countless quick-service restaurant partners, including Subway, Wendy’s, Cinnabon, Denny’s, Moe’s Southwest Grill and more.
“We know travelers have many needs while on the road, so we aim to make the total experience for our guests as enjoyable and productive as possible,” said Ken Parent, president of Pilot Flying J. “For our guests, we are a travel center destination they can rely on because we’re always listening to what matters to them most.”
To make sure travelers also have a comfortable and clean place to stop when they need to during their summer travels, Pilot Flying J recently invested $50 million to renovate restrooms across their network of travel centers, adding amenities like LED lighting, eco-friendly hand dryers, Italian tile accents and more. These restroom upgrades are complete at locations in travel hubs like Illinois, Texas, Ohio, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Florida and California, and the remainder of locations will be upgraded through the next two years.
