Rutter’s has donated $10,000 to the production of a film that features a Central Pennsylvania little league team.
A new film featuring a Central Pennsylvania little league baseball team may feature one popular convenience store brand.
According to a recent report from Central Penn Business Journal, Rutter’s Farm Stores has announced plans to purchase a product placement partnership for the recently announced “Against the Odds” movie project. This new film will tell the story of the Red Land Little League’s 2015 World Series experience in Williamsport, Pa.
As Rutter’s has 62 locations in Central Pennsylvania, including one store located across the street from the Red Land Little League fields, according to Central Penn Business Journal, this convenience chain is the perfect sponsor for the film.
Rutter’s marks the third Central Pennsylvania-based business to sponsor the film. Central Penn Business Journal reported that Musselman’s Applesauce and the Harrisburg Senators are also sponsoring the film.
As a part of the company’s sponsorship, Rutter’s chief customer officer, Derek Gaskins, presented a $10,000 check to the film’s director and co-producer, Jameson Hesse.
Central Penn Business Journal reported that the film is expected to complete filming and post-production entirely in Central Pennsylvania. The film’s director also announced plans to donate a portion of the film’s profits to the Red Land Little League team. The money would be used to build a new youth baseball complex and to help inspire future little leaguers to pursue their dreams.
