Big Red SlurpeeAmerica’s original red soda is now available in Slurpee form at select 7-Eleven stores.

7-Eleven Inc. has partnered with Big Red to introduce a new Big Red summer Slurpee flavor.

7-Eleven showcases national and regional soda favorites that consumers love by recreating them as Slurpee flavors. Sipping on a Big Red soda in the summertime is a familiar treat for anyone who grew up in Texas, Big Red’s number one market. Big Red soda has strong Texas roots and is a perfect match for 7-Eleven’s iconic Slurpee drink. Both have extremely loyal followings and consumers can find the sweet and smooth Big Red Slurpee drinks in more than 650 participating Texas 7-Eleven stores.

“Slurpee and Big Red both epitomize originality and fun, and pairing the two puts an exciting twist on a classic summer staple,” said Thomas Oh, senior vice president of Marketing at Big Red Inc. “We’re very excited 7-Eleven chose Big Red to represent Texas for their regional flavor launch because Big Red and Slurpee are celebrated for their sweet taste and summertime fun.

Founded in 1937 in Waco, Texas, Big Red has a line of six different and unique flavors. Big Red has solidified a strong presence throughout the Southern U.S. and has grown to become a Texas staple.

“Big Red is a staple on Texas Big Gulp fountain machines, but has only been available in Slurpee form at select Texas stores,” said Rusty Smith, 7-Eleven director of Proprietary Beverages. “The great flavor and bright red color have made Big Red a favorite with Slurpee fans, and it’s time to let the rest of the Lone Star state in on the frozen fun. Offering local favorites really lets our customers know that we are listening to them and providing the products they want.”

Based in Dallas, 7 Eleven introduced the Slurpee semi-frozen carbonated beverage in 1966 and estimates that more than 13 million Slurpee drinks are currently sold each month in the U.S. Big Red-flavored Slurpee drinks are now available in participating Texas stores.
