Across the country, gas stations post pump prices lower than last year.
The national average price of gas has fallen to the lowest it has been since April, now sitting at $2.21 per gallon.
According to a report by AAA, ample fuel supplies mixed with declining crude oil costs have contributed to gas prices falling in 47 states over the past week. More than one-third of gas stations nationwide are selling gasoline for $2 per gallon or less. In every state, fuel prices are substantially lower than one year ago in every state. In California, gas is $1 cheaper than it was this time last year.
Gas prices are the least expensive in South Carolina ($1.85) and the highest in Hawaii ($2.80) and California ($2.80).
