Frostop Root Beer is still a fan favorite, even after 90 years on the market.
Frostop Root Beer, which is currently celebratinf its 90th anniversary, was recently voted the best in taste and quality at the Convenience Store Decisions’ 2016 Consumer’s Choice New Products Contest.
The magazine’s products contest was held at Truenorth Convenience Store in Medina, Ohio. Hundreds of customers were asked to sample and evaluate more than 60 product SKUs that spanned 12 categories, rating the items on taste/quality, innovation and uniqueness, and likeliness to buy. The foodservice category was also rated on its portability. Frostop took home the gold in the carbonated beverage category for taste and quality.
For 2016, Frostop has enhanced its value proposition for consumers with larger 24-ounce bottles typically promoted at an introductory price point of 99-cents, making it one of the best values in the cooler. Served in nostalgic, easy-grip, plastic bottles, Frostop offers great value for retailers and consumers.
“This is a tremendous honor,” said Lou Maiellano, Frostop convenience channel sales director, “We have spent quite a bit of time studying what consumers want from a beverage. Our fans love an honest root beer – not the gourmet, hip, exotic or mass-produced variety. Frostop uses the same ingredients and brewing process we used at our first Frostop stand almost a century ago. Our original recipe infuses 22 original flavors, which we cold-brew in batches at thirty-six degrees – the exact temperature that brings out Frostop’s rich, delicious and creamy flavor. This contest is the validation that Frostop is the real deal.”
Today, Frostop’s line up of Root Beers & Cremes —Root Beer, Diet Root Beer, Kansas City Sarsaparilla, Red Birch Beer, Orange & Cream and Vanilla Caramel Cream—are expanding distribution to convenience stores and supermarkets nationwide.
