New GetGo Café + Market offers a new, high quality convenience store experience.
Convenience stores are evolving as Millennial consumers continue to expect more from the places they shop.
One example of this evolution is the recently opened GetGo Café + Market in Brunswick, Ohio. According to a report from Cleveland.com, a grand opening celebration was held for this new convenience store, and Adam Richman from the Travel Channel showed up to mingle with the more than 50 attendees.
The new store measures 6,000 square feet, and the company has announced plans to convert all GetGo locations to the new Café + Market format. The company is making the statement that you don’t have to sacrifice quality for convenience anymore, and it is this pattern that is drawing in the Millennial consumer.
In addition to convenience and quality, convenience stores are also offering a wider variety of food items than ever before, catering to health trends and other demands that the Millennial consumer is placing on the market, Cleveland.com reported.
Convenience stores aren’t just for fueling up and grabbing a snack for the road anymore, they are evolving into destination stores. With made-to-order food options, dining areas, fee-less ATMs and more, convenience stores are changing the face of the industry and drawing in the business of time-pressed Millennials who are looking for high-quality goods at convenience store prices.
In fact, the new GetGo Café + Market has altered its format so that the gas station part of the business is not at the forefront. According to Cleveland.com, the new store has two entrances, with one in the front and one in the back, which leads to the fuel pumps. In addition to offering a wider variety of products, the store has been designed to create an atmosphere is much more aesthetically pleasing than that of a traditional convenience store.
The store is also much more technologically advanced than its previous format, as consumers are expecting this from convenience stores as well. The new Café + Market offers kiosks where customers can order their food and pay. Food is typically ready within three minutes, and they can be on their way with their high-quality, made-to-order, customizable food items.
