Johnsonville and 7-Eleven raised $2,200 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through a one day charity event.
On July 19, 2016, 7-Eleven teamed up with the Johnsonville Big Taste Grill in Irving, Texas to host an event in support if St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Parked at the 7-Eleven headquarters on Hackberry Road, the Big Taste Grill cooked more than 1,500 sausages for the one-day event. Attendees were offered a choice of Johnsonville’s Cheddar Beer Brat or a Johnsonville Italian Sausage, the latest addition to 7-Eleven’s hot roller grill line-up. All proceeds – $2,200 – will be shared with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“As a family-owned company, Johnsonville partners with its foodservice customers to support both charitable and community events. We are lucky to have opportunities like these where we can involve 7-Eleven’s community and contribute to the important work done by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” said senior brand manager, Sarah Babb.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital organizes research and treatments of life-threatening diseases in children. Their research and medical discoveries have led to significant increases in cancer survival rates and improved healthcare for children struggling with serious illnesses.
Johnsonville launched the Big Taste Grill in 1995 to mark its 50th anniversary. With fundraising for charities as a major focus, the grill has also provided tailgate sausages at special events and retail locations since its inception. In the last 21 years, Big Taste Grill has traveled nearly 30,000 miles, served 3.3 million attendees and raised over $4 million for local and national charities.
