7-Eleven commits to helping Canadians make informed meal choices on-the-go.
7-Eleven stores across Canada have now improved the calorie labeling on its menu boards, making it easier for Canadians to find healthier options on-the-go. Now, calorie counts are on both price tags and menu boards for non-packaged foods and beverage products. The labeling applies to hot and cold beverages, crispy chicken, hot foods and fresh bakery products.
7-Eleven Canada was quick off the mark voluntarily posting calorie labels nation-wide on Sept. 1, 2016. The introduction of Canada-wide calorie labels coincides with the lead-up to Ontario’s new menu labelling requirements in the New Year. 7-Eleven Canada chose to move with early implementation and extend this nutritional information to its customers across the country.
“7-Eleven Canada is committed to providing our customers with the information they need to make more informed choices,” said Raj Kapoor, vice president and general manager, 7-Eleven Canada. “We’re proud to take a leadership role to be among the first retailers to implement calorie menu labeling in Canada.”
7-Eleven Canada has gone above and beyond Ontario’s menu labeling regulations, having also posted a Nutrition Quick Reference Guide in stores to provide customers with comprehensive information on calories and 13 core nutrients for over 300 food and beverage entries.
