To prevent traffic jams at a busy exit, truck drivers are advised not to park at the location from Oct. 13-16.
The Love’s location on I-95/US Hwy 1in Ormond Beach, Fla. plans to act as a fuel-and-go only location during Biketoberfest, which takes place Oct. 13-16.
Thousands of motorcyclists are set to arrive in the Daytona Beach/Ormond Beach area Oct. 13-16 for Biketoberfest.
Daytona Harley Davidson (DHD), located next door to Love’s in Ormond Beach, is a major participant of the annual motorcycle event and rally. DHD’s involvement causes unusually high traffic volume in and around the area, and Love’s can only allow trucks to FUEL AND GO.
Long-term parking won’t be available at this location throughout Biketoberfest. In the past when Love’s attempted to impose 30-minute parking limits for trucks, it was difficult to enforce. The increased traffic volumes for truckers waiting to fuel— combined with the significant influx of cars, trucks and bikes during that week— caused traffic jams to the point that State Police had to close the exit. Love’s wants to provide the necessary fueling for its professional truck driver customers, but in order to ensure that is still available, Love’s needs to keep the trucks moving in and out at that exit.
