Money raised benefits those in need within the counties in which QuickChek operates store locations.
QuickChek Corp. is set to participate in the Check-Out Hunger campaign to help feed hungry families during the upcoming holiday season.
The Whitehouse Station, N.J.-based fresh convenience market chain is a campaign partner of the annual fundraiser that takes place every autumn at most major supermarkets and convenience stores throughout the region, benefiting more than 30 Feeding America food banks and affiliates from New England to Florida.
The Community Food Bank of New Jersey, the Hudson Valley Food Bank and Long Island Cares, which QuickChek supports all year-round, are among those beneficiaries.
Shoppers at each of QuickChek’s 147 stores throughout New Jersey, New York’s Hudson Valley and Long Island can help feed hungry families in their communities by donating $1, $3 or $5 coupons at store check-out counters during a six-week period that begins Saturday, Nov. 5 and runs through Dec.17, 2016, providing food, help and hope to those in need.
The Check-Out Hunger campaign has been warmly embraced by QuickChek team members and customers alike. The company raised $160,000 last year and $125,000 during the 2014 campaign to help feed hungry families throughout the metropolitan area. All of the money raised benefits those in need within the counties in which QuickChek operates store locations.
“Being in the food business, our partnership with the community food banks where we have stores has allowed us to further embrace and support our local communities and help our neighbors in their time of need,” said QuickChek CEO Dean Durling, whose family-owned company has been named one of the most generous in the state by New Jersey Monthly magazine.
A leader in the fresh convenience industry with an exceptional fresh food and coffee program, QuickChek was recently named Convenience Store Decisions’ 2016 Convenience Store Chain of the Year, in part due to its continued dedication to giving back and supporting its communities.
This is the 26th year of Check-Out Hunger; its partnership with QuickChek extends throughout the year including the launch of a Check-Out Hunger hot air balloon at the annual QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning in Association with PNC Bank in July.
