Love’s automates food temperature monitoring and task logging.

Love’s Travel Stops has signed a multi-year agreement to implement Digi International’s task management and food temperature monitoring solution across its entire chain of locations throughout the U.S.

Digi International provides machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity products and services.

Love’s Travel Stops has more than 400 locations in 40 states, providing professional truck drivers and motorists with 24-hour access to clean and safe places to purchase gasoline, snacks and more, as well as providing customers a wide variety of restaurant offerings.

With this agreement, Love’s will implement Digi’s advanced technology-supported service to ensure that all its restaurants deliver the highest levels of food quality and safety to their customers. Digi’s state-of-the-art solution automates food temperature monitoring and task logging to greatly simplify the effort for employees while ensuring public health compliance. Additionally, with Digi, Love’s will gain enterprise-wide insight and reporting, allowing them to implement best-practice processes and systems throughout all locations.

“Part of our core values is to ‘focus on the customer in everything we do’ and embrace innovative thinking,” said Joe Cotton, director of restaurant services for Love’s Travel Stops. “After an extensive and thorough search, Digi emerged as the most advanced, complete system to help us deliver the very best experience to our customers as we set the industry standard for foodservice quality.”

“To work with a company with the reputation and stature of Love’s is a great testament to our solution,” said Kevin Riley, chief operating officer, Digi International. “The scope of the agreement clearly demonstrates to the market that Digi is providing a proven solution and bringing the latest technological approaches that allow companies to proactively ensure the highest standards in food safety.”

A subscription-based service, Digi’s task management application allows restaurants to capture and manage daily tasks and temperature logs on any smartphone. Wireless temperature sensors and IoT technology ensure consistency and compliance with local and company food safety standards. Enterprise level cloud-based reporting provides real-time insights, allowing managers to continuously improve operational efficiency.

Tasks can be assigned and customized by role, defined by time slot (morning/afternoon/evening, open/close), frequency (hourly/daily/weekly/monthly) and set for alert notifications.
