Biofuels offer a critical tool for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) released a peer-reviewed report examining the lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions from corn-based ethanol.
The report found that corn ethanol reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 43% compared to conventional gasoline today, would further reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2022, and has the potential to reduce emissions by as much as 76%.
