Nine Rutter’s convenience stores now sell beer and six sell both wine and beer.
Rutter’s continues to roll out wine departments to its fleet of convenience stores in York, Pa.
Three more Rutter’s locations expanded their selection with wine on Friday, May 12.
The Rutter’s in Waynesboro, Mercersburg, and Hamburg all began their wine sales last Friday. This makes nine Rutter’s stores to sell beer, and six to sell both wine and beer.
Rutter’s customers are able to select from a variety of wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Merlot. This vast selection is arranged in front of the Beer Caves, inside the seating area. Hours to buy wine do vary from beer, due to the Pennsylvania Law Act 39.
Customers are able to purchase wine from Rutter’s Monday thru Saturday from 7 a.m. until 11p.m. and on Sundays from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m. Also, in conformity with Act 39, Rutter’s customers will be able to purchase up to 3,000-milliliters of wine. This equals four standard 750-milliters bottles and two large 1.5 liter bottles.
“Bringing wine to three more stores was a great way to kick-off another weekend. We are looking for more and more opportunities where we can give our customers what they need and provide them with the convenience they deserve. With summer right around the corner, this is the perfect time to expand our beer and wine selections,” said Robert Perkins, vice president of marketing.
