Travel center will bring up to 80 local jobs to the city of Lamar.
Pilot Flying J announced today that it will open a Pilot Travel Center in Lamar, Colo. in mid-January. The travel center features full amenities for area residents and the traveling public, while adding approximately 80 local jobs and other economic benefits to the community.
“We’re thrilled to serve the Lamar community and contribute to the local economy with our new travel center,” said Ken Parent, president of Pilot Flying J. “Both Lamar residents and those traveling through the Prowers County area will soon be able to enjoy the convenience and amenities of this Pilot Travel Center.”
This Pilot Travel Center offers many amenities, including:
- 10 gasoline fueling positions and six diesel lanes with high-speed pumps for quicker refueling;
- PJ Fresh, fast casual food offerings, including PJ Fresh Pizza, soup, sandwiches and hot dogs;
- premium coffee and cappuccino selections;
- Dunkin’ Donuts with drive-through;
- Western Union;
- driver’s lounge;
- CAT Scale; and
- everyday products for quick shopping needs.
The new location at 708 North Main Street will be Pilot Flying J’s 4th location in Colorado and is expected to contribute $2.2 million annually in state and local tax revenues.
The retail chain, based in Knoxville, Tenn., also opened a refurbished travel center in Indiana. The newly renovated building in Remington is located at 4154 West US Hwy. 24, and features many enhanced amenities, includes a new Taco Bell, Subway, PJ Fresh, and fast casual food offerings including PJ Fresh Pizza, Pilot’s Best Gourmet Coffees, soups, salads, sandwiches and bakery items.
