RaceTrac’s executive director of merchandise and supply chain succeeds Jared Sturtevant of Alimentation-Couche Tard, as head of the convenience store industry’s exclusive group for next-generation leaders.
The National Advisory Group’s (NAG) Young Executives Organization (YEO) is pleased to announce that Bart Stransky, the executive director of merchandise and supply chain for RaceTrac Petroleum, Inc. in Atlanta, has been named the Chairman of the National Advisory Group’s (NAG) Young Executives Organization (YEO). He follows Jared Sturtevant, the supervisor of digital marketing for Alimentation Couche-Tard, who has served on the Board since 2013 and has aged out of the group following his 40th birthday.
Stransky, who has been with RaceTrac for 10 years, has served on the YEO Board since 2016. He will serve a one-year term as board chairman.
During his time with RaceTrac, Bart has had the opportunity to take part in many of the chain’s newest concepts, offers, and programs. He is currently focused on leveraging technology and supply chain programs to help streamline store level processes allowing front line associates to better serve their guests.
“The convenience industry is one of the most dynamic and diverse in the retail landscape,” Stransky said. “Our ability to learn from each other and adapt that knowledge to our own unique organizations is second to none. I am excited to support and grow the impact of YEO to these future leaders of our industry.”
As the convenience store and petroleum industry continues to evolve, training the next generation leaders of tomorrow is more important than ever before. NAG relaunched YEO in 2012 to help young executives have a group that is solely focused on exchanging personal experiences with peers in their age group.
In his role as Chairman, Stransky will help lead the educational component for YEO members as well as help recruit and integrate new members into the YEO network.
“I have had the opportunity to work with Bart on several projects over the past few years and not only am I impressed by his knowledge of the industry, but his superior leadership skills. YEO is in great hands under his direction,” said John Lofstock, executive director of the National Advisory Group. “While we welcome Bart as Chairman, I would also like to thank Jared Sturtevant for his many years of service to YEO. He brought leadership to the board and represented the true spirit of John MacDougall, the founder of Nice N Easy, who recommended Jared for the board. It has been a pleasure to work with him.”
YEO’s mission is to cultivate young talent in the convenience store and petroleum industry through implementation of education and networking. YEO accomplishes this mission by leveraging the experience of NAG members to help foster superior leadership skills.
“NAG’s YEO is extremely focused on bringing great young talent together from across the country and giving them a platform to discuss success and struggles facing next-generation leaders throughout the convenience store and petroleum industry. It is a valuable networking experience. I am grateful for my time on the board and wish the group continued success,” Sturtevant said.
